Nitrous Oxide–Oxygen Minimal Sedation Certification Course This comprehensive certification course is designed to meet and exceed the minimum educational requirements for dentists seeking authorization to administer nitrous oxide–oxygen minimal sedation. The program is led by Dr. Jasdev Bhalla, Board-Certified Dentist Anesthesiologist, and provides a structured, competency-based approach to the safe and effective use of minimal sedation in dental practice. Participants will receive in-depth training in all essential aspects of nitrous oxide–oxygen sedation, including: * Patient assessment, evaluation, and appropriate case selection * Indications and contraindications for minimal sedation * Pharmacology and physiological effects of nitrous oxide and oxygen * Safe administration, titration, and delivery techniques * Monitoring of patients during sedation * Recognition, prevention, and management of potential adverse events * Maintenance of appropriate levels of minimal sedation and avoidance of unintended deeper sedation * Professional responsibilities and regulatory obligations The course includes both didactic instruction and supervised clinical training in a properly equipped dental environment, allowing participants to apply sedation techniques in real patient care settings. All instruction is provided by a Dentist Anesthesiologist and may be supplemented, where appropriate, by experienced personnel in the techniques being taught. A formal assessment process is included to evaluate both knowledge and clinical competency. Upon successful completion, participants will have demonstrated competency in the administration of nitrous oxide–oxygen minimal sedation and will have fulfilled the educational requirements necessary for certification in accordance with current regulatory standards. This course provides 7 CE points in Category 2. Special emphasis is placed on patient safety, appropriate monitoring, and discharge criteria. Participants will understand that nitrous oxide–oxygen sedation is the only modality in which discharge without an escort may be considered at the clinician’s discretion, following appropriate assessment.
